Garlic Day Festivities

This is my last post this week on the Two Sisters Garlic, Garlic Day in Canterbury, NH. 

We all came for the garlic.

And there was plenty of beautiful bulbs for sale.

There were darling mittens for sale too.

We learned about the best plants to grow to attract butterflies.

Unusual handmade stepping stones were for sale and pots filled with various succulents.

There was live music.

The family cow, Bertha came around for a visit.

The neighbor was in the back meadow flying planes.

We walked back to the barn.

This only annoyed the sheep and they took off.

Of course on a harvest day like today there were pumpkins for sale.

Let's find the donut maker.

Did you see the donut maker's leg in the Two Sisters Garlic garden yesterday? If not, start here and then come back here. It has been years since I've had a homemade donut. Let's find this donut maker.

Oh I bet we will find the donut maker in this charming, pumpkin colored building.

I'm lovin' this color palette.

Oooooh do you see what I see? Let's move in closer.

Ah-ha! So this is where the donuts are made.

Maybe I'll try just one of those donut holes.

Feel free to grab a donut or two for yourself. Don't worry about all that oil... we'll leave it on paper.

Garlic Day: House + Garden

Yesterday I posted some beautiful photos of garlic from the Two Sisters Garlic, Garlic Day in Canterbury, NH. Today's post features some shots of their house and garden.

You'll want to be careful walking in the garden. The resident cow sunk into a hole that may lead to an Underground Railroad.

I love the blossoms at this time of year. They are little gifts before winter sets in.

Pink blossoms keep showing up in my collages so I was delighted to see this beauty - a pink blossom represents my own blossoming.

This sweet bud will definitely show up in some future collages.

I end today's post with a shot of the "donut maker's leg."

Garlic Day

Last month I went on a special outing to the Two Sister's Garlic farm in Canterbury, NH. They were hosting a Garlic Day. Inside their home was garlic and other goodies for sale.

Baskets were filled with garlic. Sweet potato rolls from Shaker Village were also for sale.

Three different garlic jellies were available for sale.

They are divinely matched with pretzels or crackers.

An adjoining room offered some non-garlic items.

This photo is for Claudia, my photo buddy. We had such a splendid day with our cameras in hand. She adores this wreath.

I couldn't resist bringing home some of this lavender.
