I am having a blast in my Daily Musings Planner/Journal designed by Lisa Fite deYoung of Mountain Mermaid Studios.
This week I looked for images to paste in to illustrate something from my day. Here I found a MEME from Pinterest to commemorate the season kick off of Downton Abbey.
A little note above the photo declares my color for the year, Peacock Blue. (There isn't a good choice in this Typepad color palette...I guess this Peacock'ish green will do.)
Here is a note about the interview with Susanne Fincher that I published on my blog. The post is also the kick off of a FREE series that I'm hosting where I'll be posting about "The Mandala Workbook and the Great Round" each month throughout the year. I painted the square and glued on one of my watercolor mandalas. My trusty white gel pen was used for the notes.
I went to lunch with my friend Claudia on Tuesday. We ate Chinese! This square was decorated with a piece of wrapping paper. I layered some paper and cut out a circle from a magazine to make a pretty ornament for the number that I wrote in. The fortune message was worth saving - it was the nudge that I needed to take action on something that was important to me but needed some effort. I'm so glad that I listened! Mission accomplished.
I pasted in these affirmations that are from a Virtues Project card about the practice of Creativity. Creativity is definitely one of my top virtues. Part of pasting this in my journal is to encourage me to consider how I will integrate what I learned about using the Virtues Project cards in the facilitator training, with what I am doing in my 100 Mandalas Project and my other creative, artistic, journal explorations.
I just had to print this Buddha Doodle for my journal. I loved this message for I'm one to "look for signs" and I often see hearts in unexpected places. Sign up to get these charming comics from Buddha Doodles. They are sure to add a little inspiration to your day.
This was also a great day because my dear friend stopped by with a wonderful gift! I love how Mae tied the string and key to this little journal. She has such a way with details and presentation.
We talked about an upcoming retreat that we are planning on March 28/29, 2015. I'll be announcing soon the details of this event that will be happening here in New Hampshire. I'm so excited to collaborate with such a lovely and creative women.
Friday night I enjoyed a lovely chat on the phone with my sister. Her favorite color is purple so it was obvious what direction I was going in for this square. I used Inktense Derwitt pencils and then embellished it with a little collage cut out of some scrapbook paper that I've had in my stash for years. It feels great to start using some of what I've collected over the years.
Today I pulled out my spirograph for a little play. I journaled around the mandala and then colored in with some colored pencils. I felt like a kid! This was by far my favorite toy growing up. Thanks Megan for this Spirograph - it is definitely one of my favorite Christmas presents.
My skin is sooo happy this week. I had run out of my skin care and put off replacing it. With this winter weather my face was getting so dry and itchy. I cut the top off of the packaging to include in my journal.
I am so impressed with Evan Healy products. They are a bit pricey but truly a little bit goes a long way. After only one application, my skin felt like it could breathe again. The redness disappeared instantly. I couldn't believe how quickly my face responded. I will NEVER go without my Evan Healy. If you are looking for a new skin care line, consider Evan Healy. If you have troubled skin, I highly recommend that you seek out a professional esthetician.
My dear friend Maureen from Beauty Within had recommended to me to use this line. What I love about Maureen is that her focus is on natural, organic, and quality products. Her facials are also extremely relaxing - you not only take good care of your skin but you take good care of your soul.
There you have it, my week illustrated.
I'm already looking forward to what next week will bring and the pictures and words that will cross my path.
Have a lovely week!
