Collage Diva's Blog Tour

Visiting blogs is a big part of the blogging experience. Last month I took up the challenge to create new art and to blog every day. I had little time to visit other blogs. This month, I'm slowing down on the number of posts that I publish to make room to visit other blogs. I thought I would share my travels in a weekly series of posts called the Collage Diva Blog Tour. My first stops will be to those who visited my blog last month. The comments these bloggers left for me were my fuel to keep the creativity wheels spinning and the blog engines running. What I love the most about traveling in bloglandia is how quickly I can go from Buenos Aires to NY and then to Norway. Let's begin the tour, now shall we?

My first stop is to a real sweetheart. Paula hails from Buenos Aires. I think we first met online participating in Wishcasting Wednesdays. Swing by her blog for a dose of happy.

Our next stop takes us to New York City to visit the lovely Teri at her Quince Berry Blog. Teri and I have been following each other now for about two years. I dare say we are kindred spirits. We both gravitate toward the same authors and artists. We often inspire each other with our creativity. Teri has a beautiful way with words.

I admire anyone who can sew. B at Sweet Limes has a passion for sewing. Her blog though shares not only her love affair with her sewing machine but chronicles her creative and artistic life. B is a generous blog commenter. Show her some love and swing by her blog and leave a juicy comment.

Our last stop for this week takes us to Oslo Norway. I'm delighted to have a connection with another blogger who is studying ikebana (Japanese flower arranging). My goal is to post my blog tour each Sunday. As you can see I'm starting off a day late! I wanted to make the time to create some original artwork for the tour. Each piece is a combination of my own illustrations and hand-painted papers. I hope you have fun on the tour.

Meet My Imaginary Boyfriend

There is a little spot in Bloglandia that is far, far, away from where I live. It is a place where the artist's play inspires me to pull out my art journal and paints. The artist's name is iHanna and she lives in Sweden.

I recently stopped by iHanna's blog. It was on a whim for there is nothing structured about how I travel in Bloglandia. She was sharing some 5x5 inch collages that she was creating for Art Every Day Month. As a singleton, I couldn't resist the collage pictured above titled, "My Imaginary Boyfriend."

The words on the collage sealed the deal for me. "Today my pretend boyfriend told me I don't need to pretend anymore." Much to my delight, the collage was available for sale in her Etsy shop. Without hesitation I swung over to the store and placed the order. "I'm supporting a fellow artist" I thought as I completed the transaction. I imagined iHanna getting the order and a smile appearing on her face. To complete the order I left iHanna a little love note, "I love your artwork iHanna and I look forward to meeting my imaginary boyfriend." Well, my pretend boyfriend arrived last week. The order was filled on the spot and it arrived so quickly! I picked up a frame to keep him clean and safe and proudly on display. I haven't settled on where he will live but I'm leaning to the bedroom. That is a good place for a boyfriend to hang out, don't you think?
