A new life for a pencil shaving

There is a BIG lesson in this little work of art. If you look at what radiates from the bird you may recognize what it is - a pencil shaving. This simple scrap that would ordinarily be discarded without any thought was given another chance for a new life! Before that new life was discovered, the shaving sat on my work table patiently waiting. For months I would carefully move it from spot to spot looking for just the right place. It is funny how things work - we say that timing is key and you will know when the time is right. Such was the fate for this little pencil shaving when I set out to make my first ATC. Now when I look at this little composition I can't imagine it without the little pencil shaving.
