My Musings Journal is quickly becoming a notebook. As you can see from the photo above, my notetaking style is more visual and less wordy than how we were taught in school.

July 2016 is about transformation.
Transformation of fear into power, doubt into confidence, and old emotional wounds into great wisdom through love.
I like how using the rubber stamps for some of the words S-L-O-W-E-D me down. It gave me time to reflect on the words and concepts.
What are you afraid of?
Some of my colorful new Washi tape and some paper creates an instant flap and more room for note taking.
Ahhhh the cocoon of fear. Sometimes it feels safe with our familiar fears, doesn't it?
To break open the cocoon, I used swirls similar to the love swirls from the first panel.
I loved this line, "Let's soar with new wings from a place of love."
I started with a piece of my painted paper for the background and then placed a round sticker with the cat printed on it. I added purple lines with a ballpoint pen to outline the sticker and add wings to the cat. For a finishing touch, I outlined the wings using a black Micron pen.
I started with another sticker for this journal space.
I drew in lines for my list of words, again notes from the reading. I'm familiar with all of these in fact, I've had a jump start on this month with experiencing a bit of each of these. I colored in with colored pencils starting with orange and then cooling it down by adding blue.
The prescribed antidote for all of those challenging emotions is self care. I've declared it last week that this summer I'm focusing on EXQUISITE SELF CARE. I was delighted when I read this...again, I seem to be on track with the forecast. Note that as I worked on this journal, I was enjoying a lovely breeze. I felt relaxed and creative. Playing in my journal is all about what I love: it really felt good to play without watching the clock and no pressure to perform.
I reach for colors that I'm drawn to including some gold embellished Washi tape. Swoon!
I'm diggin' the focus on positivity and love in this forecast...these messages are really helping me these days.
I thought this was really an interesting point. Do you find yourself anticipating the future and "shaking your coconut water" as my husband says? It is so true that what we think MIGHT HAPPEN is not grounded in anything real. Time to close those library books of fabricated stories and FOCUS ON THE PRESENT.
Great advice, don't you agree?
I'll leave you with this one last bit of wisdom. What are you feeding these days?
Be sure to feed love and not fear.
Today I also created a new collage circle. I'm saving it for my upcoming webinar called, Collage Story Circles. I'll be sharing some techniques and tips for creating collages based on the elements and principles of design. I'll also share how I interpret and "read" my collages in the second part of the presentation. Get more details on this webinar, HERE.
Thanks for swinging by!
