Day three on my 21-day cleanse was fantastic. No detox symptoms, lots of energy, and I'm feeling so focused and positive. In my bathroom I have this framed quote that affirms my relationship with my body:
I will not only love my body
but I will cherish it.
When I was experiencing the detox symptoms, especially the uncomfortable headaches, I reminded myself that the cleanse is working. As my body heated up I thought, "finally my metabolism is kicking into gear." I think I've had a sluggish metabolism most of my life. I imagined the heat in my body as cleaning up the cholesterol and build up of toxins. My focus has been on getting lots of rest and drinking a lot of water with lemon. I often repeat in my head, "You go girl. You are doing it! Every day you are on this cleanse the better off your body is. Keep up the good work."
I am really loving Kris Carr's daily encouragement in her book, Crazy Sexy Diet
. For each day of the 21-day cleanse she offers a reflection, focus, prayer, affirmation, tip, and what she calls God Pod Maintenance (that is her way of saying taking care of your divine body).
Here is an example of the prayer from the book:
May I know in my heart that I am
precious, worthy, and divine
(aka very fabulous!).
When I move from my own private divinity,
whatever I do is enough.
Here is an affirmation:
I love my thighs.
My skin is beautiful.
My organs are healthy and powerful.
Kris' writing style is that of a cheerleader. She is so affirming and encouraging. I can't express enough how important it is to have a positive dialogue in our heads, and not just during a challenge like a cleanse but in every day life.
What are you doing to love and cherish your body? Find or write an affirmation and frame it. Place it where you'll see it every day.
Here is to your health and loving and cherishing your body.
Namaste,

So inspiring! I have been juice cleansing for over 2 weeks and feel marvelous... Wondering do I really need to go back to eating 3 meals a day. Thinking that juicing two a day may be a life style for me... Don't think hubby could do that. As is I am making him juices with more fruits, yogurt and almond milk. Mine veggies and seeds... But he likes to eat. I find it freeing not to have to think about what to prepare at meals, just pulls some veggies out of the fridge and bop them into the vitamix. No thinking required...
You are the only other person I know juicing so nice to hear how things are going. I need to work on those affirmations.
