Collage Diva put on her favorite autumn dress for
A Fanciful Twist's Annual Halloween Blog Party.
She set out by entering the Forest of Wishes.
Have you been there?
Ooooh my dear readers this is no ordinary forest.
You see this is where dreams grow.
As our dear heroine, the Collage Diva walked further into the forest,
it grew darker and darker.
She followed what looked like a path leading to a bright spot.
But, when she arrived to the light, she came upon a snowy wood.
She wasn't dressed for this weather and grew cold very quickly.
Follow the light and wisps of cold air.
Can you make out the little hut?
As Collage Diva approached the door she hoped to find warm shelter.
She was getting so very cold.
Much to her relief, she was greeted by three friendly looking witches.
They welcomed her in and invited her to join them at their table.
They sat around a large melon.
Mind you, this was no ordinary melon, this was a magical melon.
One of the very kind witches waved her wand and
spoke words that the Collage Diva could not understand.
The melon split open and the witch pulled out some seeds...
...and tossed them onto a dish.
All three witches examined the dish in silence.
After what seemed like an eternity, they looked at one another and smiled.
Collage Diva sat quietly taking it all in.
The witches pulled out a bottle of brain tonic
and offered a glass to our Collage Diva.
The tonic felt warm as it went down.
The witches all watched her as she drained her glass.
The warm glow filled her up and she felt courage.
Collage Diva broke the silence, "Thank you for welcoming in to your home."
The witch who poured the brew spoke up,
"My dear, you have an important journey to take. This tonic will give you the courage
and wisdom you need to find your way."
A second witch spoke,
"Please trust us with what we are about to ask of you."
The third witch added,
"You are right where you need to be and
ready for what you are about to embark on."
Without knowing what was to be asked of her the Collage Diva was feeling brave.
She said without hesitation, "Yes, I'm ready!"
The witches smiled and called for "Mildred"
a huge spider who appeared before them.
"My dear" said one of the witches, "You are to ride on the back of our
pet spider Mildred. She is going to take you down to the river
where you will find passage to a magical land."
Much to her surprise, Collage Diva felt comfortable with Mildred
and she did as the witches urged her. The two set off to the river.
Just as the witches had told her, there was a darling boat at the river.
Collage Diva left Mildred the spider and boarded the boat.
Gently it sailed southward carrying the diva.
When she arrived at the shore there was a magnificent home made of stone, shells, and sea glass.
Somehow she knew she was in the land of the fairies.
Collage Diva walked into the home and looked around
but sadly there was no one home. There were no fairies to be found.
"Maybe I'll look around. I want to meet a REAL fairy."
The Collage Diva walked around and came upon another interesting looking place.
She walked up the large steps to the entrance.
Just outside the entrance was a journal on a table.
Collage Diva picked up the journal and flipped through the pages.
"Oh this look like the prompts from my Journey of the Heart Journal!"
she exclaimed. "I think the fairy who lives here may know of my work
at True North Arts. How exciting!"
"Hello?" Collage Diva called out.
But she heard only silence.
She looked around and could see that the fairy who lived here was indeed an artist.
Look at that mushroom palette!
..and the beautiful colors of paint!
But alas, the Collage Diva left the fairy studio without meeting a fairy.
The diva came upon a sign inviting her to ride the
Fairy go Round.
"Maybe if I ride the Fairy go Round I'll spy a fairy?"
The Collage Diva boarded one of the fluffy birds and circled around and around.
There were no fairies in sight.
Collage Diva came to a Fairy Wheel.
She saw how high that fairy wheel spun around.
"Ohhhh, if I ride this wheel, I will be able to see far" thought the diva,
"then maybe I'll see a fairy?"
She rode in one of the nest like baskets.
As she climbed up high she saw what she was looking for...
...there in the distance was a fairy!
As soon as the wheel circle back down to the ground, she jumped out
and headed straight for the
Fuschia Fairy.
Collage Diva followed this cutie all the way down to the pond...
where they came upon the sweet fairy who loves to play amongst the lily pads.
As Collage Diva watched the fairy play in the water,
she felt as if she had wings of her own.
Lo and behold, she actually sprouted a pair of small wings!
"How did this happen?" she asked.
For the first time, the fairies noticed her and spoke to her.
"Hello sweet friend. We've been waiting for you to arrive.
You see, you've earned those wings!"
"But how?" asked Collage Diva.
"You have opened your heart
and shared with such a generosity of spirit" said the Fuschia Fairy.
"I've been following your Journey of the Heart Journal
at True North Arts."
"Was that your studio on the way to the Fairy go Round?"
The Fuschia Fairy blushed, "Yes! That is my humble little studio. I am so grateful
to you dear diva for sharing your journey. Each week I look forward to the
themes that you explore and the prompts give me ideas for
my own journal writing and artwork."
The Lilypad Fairy added,
"Your wings are small and weak. Keep sharing from your heart
and they will grow strong. They will help you as you
continue on your journey."
The Collage Diva visited for a whole fortnight.
