30 Lists 30 Days Wrap-Up

I can hardly believe that this month of list making is coming to an end. I loved designing pages and writing my lists and of course blogging about it. I compiled this matrix in response to today's prompt: "Things I'm proud of myself for..." My list is a visual one! Pulling it together like this really shows me how much I accomplished.

It has been a wonderful month. I enjoyed so many great outings with friends and I have tons of photos to share. So be sure to visit here to see what I've been dying to share with you. I will be posting something new each day, provided this chest cold doesn't get the better of me!

Things to do before my next birthday...

I really love how this journal page turned out. The background is a fabulous work of art. Sadly I don't know who the artist is. Dang it! I added a piece of painted red paper, couple of squares of black paper with gold stamped on it and a face cutout.

My list items were typed and the strips were pasted in to follow some of the lines in the artwork. 

Things to do before my next birthday. I kept my list short since they are all big items:

reach and maintain my healthy weight - I still can't believe I've dropped 50 lbs. When I look at myself in the mirror it is like seeing my old self again. I have 20 - 25 lbs to go and I'm not worried at all about getting there. I know I can do this.

save money for my trip to Italy - I really need to focus on my spending in the next 11 months. I was thrilled to have sold some of my True North Arts pins and bookmarks last week. This money is going right into my travel fund.

finish book proposals - I'm actually thinking that finishing my story is more realistic. I have the first draft written and it is feeling "thin." I need to go in a deepen and thicken the details. I love this story and look forward to going in and savoring the details. So by my next birthday, I want the story to be ready to share. It may take me several months to pull the book proposal together. That is another project onto itself and I would prefer to focus on the writing at this point.

Experience...

Today's prompt is, "Today's to do list." I prefer to start by asking the question, "What do I want to experience?"

Today I want to experience:

deep relaxation

present - fully present & aware

feel alive, vibrant

joy & playfulness

passion

From this list I can make a to do list of things to support the experiences I want to have.

I changed my plans so I can hang out at the tree house. I'll write, paint, and play with my recent photos. I'll work in some light housework - maybe. I'll scoot out for a grocery store run. I started my day by lingering in bed. I'll return to my meditation practice. I'll exercise and eat healthy foods. I will savor each moment.

When I'm sick...

What do you do when you are sick?

I love to sleep, sleep, sleep. In between bouts of sleeping, I will lounge on the couch and watch movies.

If I won the lottery...

What would you do if you won the lottery. Come on, give it up - I know you have fantasized about it.

I pieced together this journal spread using some vintage finds - sheet music and old advertisements. I know that to many I am still "young." I'm sorta in the middle. Really it is a good place to be. I finally feel comfortable with who I am and better yet, comfortable in my own skin. I'm not out to try to prove anything or impress the world. The message on this page is so reassuring, "I have my whole life before me." Yowza! I've heard of so many people starting businesses at this age and I get it. This is the time in one's life when we realize that it is time to start living for ourselves. So what is it going to be?

 

Now if I had good fortune and a windfall - I would move into a new home, travel the world, and learn how to make more money with it so I could become a philanthropist.

Words that describe me.

The original prompt for today was, "Ways to avoid housework." I thought this was so similar to what I do to procrastinate that I thought I would mix it up and write a different list.

I pasted into my journal a my holiday/New Years card from last year. Isn't it gorgeous? I would say that I am:

enthusiastic

curious

resilient

funny

at least these are qualities that others have used to describe me. They sound about right.

Let's add to that list:

thoughtful

creative

bright.

Words on a page

Today's original prompt was, "TV shows that I wish would come back."

Since I am not much of a TV watcher, I really don't wish for more reasons to turn one on. I decided to pull out some old pages from books to cover my journal and then circled words that caught my eye.

I doodled some embellishments like the wings on the shoe and the heart in the heel.

I love to dance so this page was fun. Here is one list:
