SoulCollage® is more than creating unique pictures from magazines. It is an opportunity to explore our thoughts and feelings. It is a way of checking-in. I'm rereading Carol Pearson's book, "Awakening the Heroes Within: Twelve Archetypes to Help Us Find Ourselves and Transform the World." I've started exploring each archetype and I'm creating SoulCollage® cards to illustrate the concepts.
The first archetype is the Innocent. As I read through the chapter, I thought about my current situation with my dear father's declining health. It has been a stressful three months for me. I'm feeling quite heart broken to watch a man who was so capable to now be weakened in body, mind, and spirit. I'm grateful for the time I spend with him each week and the daily chats on the phone.
As painful as it is to explore my feelings, I have also found comfort and joy in creating collages and preparing this slideshow called, "Journey of the Innocent."

Your Journey of Innocence moved me, Kathryn. I was a Daddy's Girl, too, and know what it is like to watch a parent decline. Thank you for sharing your love and hope for him. Much healing and love to you both.

I was so moved by your slideshow, Kathryn. I lost my mom to Alzheimers several years ago, and it was so hard to watch her slowly slip away. The card about orphans was so true for me. xo

This was so beautiful! I hesitated watching because I knew it would prick my still open wound of losing my Dad last year. But I'm glad I did, and a great idea to collage the feelings. Thank you for sharing ;-) in case you fly by http://www.designsbylindar.blogspot.com/ or "like" my Fan/Biz page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Me-Myself-and-You/105043419547115

Kathryn-Collage-Diva,
What a beautiful telling of the journey both you and your father are now on. It seems very hopeful and I know expressing these feelings, sharing these images, does strengthen the soul. Many of us feel this way as daughters and daddy's girls and it is wonderful to know our thoughts converge here. Thanks for inviting me. With affection.....

I have known great bloggers and the one thing that distinguish them from other bloggers are their abilities to catch reader's attention. This, you're able to do effectively. Nice post!
